#Artiste Profile: Joe Mettle

Joseph Oscar Mettle (Joe Mettle) started singing and playing the drums at the tender age of eight. By sixteen he realised that he had a unique calling upon his life to be a minister in music.

His Christian upbringing (by way of his mother) and time with elderly Christians changed his perspective about what it meant to be a Christian and to be in ministry.
Joe received several confirmations about his calling in personal dreams, visions and prophecies from friends and mentors in ministry.
He studied Draftsmanship at the Modern School of Draftsmanship (MODESCO)and is currently a studying Bsc Marketing at the Pentecost University College.
Joe is a member of the Exhibition Assemblies of God Church (Dansoman) alongside his responsibilities as Head of the Greater Accra Assemblies of God Praise and Worship Ministry.

Prior to joining Soul Winners as a lead vocalist, Joe worked with several famed artists in the industry including Cindy Thompson, Minister Danny Nettey, Reverend Tom Bright Davies. He has also been blessed to minister on the same stage as world renowned artistes such as Don Moen, Israel Houghton, Micah Stampley, Alvin Slaughter, Chevelle Franklin, Juanita Bynum, Uche Agu, William McDowell and Cece Winans. Nominated Best Artist for West Africa in the 2011 African Gospel awards, Joe went on to win the 2011 Ghana Gospel Industry Awards for Best Male Vocalist, Best Song Writer and Best Video of the Year.

His debut album, ‘My Gratitude’, saw the collaboration of Ghana’s most revered musicians and is currently a must-have in Ghana and around the world.

Joe is the mastermind behind the Community Worship Project (CWP) – a quarterly praise and worship event that features worship leaders in various communities across Ghana. The aim of the Community Worship Project is to bring quality music to the fore through praise and worship to foster unity among various churches and the Christian body.But more importantly win souls in that community for Christ . He recently led a high school praise & worship project where he and other ministers visited educational institutions to share the gospel of Christ and encourage the generations to come.

Joe expressed that his heart’s desire is to see and hear Ghanaian artists make a profound impact all over the world;It has never been about me and it will never be.But that men will see the good works and glorify my father which is in heaven.
